Shorekeepers isn’t a rental property manager — we’re a boutique home watch and concierge service for a small number of second-home owners who need real oversight of a house they don’t live in full-time. That gap shows up constantly in your work, even if no one’s had a name for it until now.
One of the harder conversations with an out-of-town buyer is who’s going to take care of this place when I’m not here? That’s the exact question we answer.
Because our packages are flat-rate, a buyer can pencil the cost of ongoing care into their budget before they ever close — instead of guessing at it after the fact. Send a nervous buyer this page, or just give them our number.
For a listing likely to attract an absentee or second-home buyer, a year of Shorekeepers can be a sharper closing incentive than a home warranty. A warranty covers a broken dishwasher; a year of Shorekeepers means the house gets checked on, storm-prepped, and looked after by someone local from day one.
This isn’t a fit for every listing — it makes the most sense for homes likely to go to a buyer who won’t live there full-time. For the right listing, though, it’s a differentiator most other properties on the market won’t have.

Shorekeepers is run by Owner/Operator Brad Johnson, based out of Currituck County and serving the Outer Banks from Nags Head north. Brad spent 15 years in law enforcement and more than 20 years as a licensed NC General Contractor (Unlimited), building, restoring, and renovating custom and historic properties across North Carolina and Virginia. Shorekeepers is designed around a small number of specific homeowners, and every one of them has a direct line to Brad — including for licensed, insured renovation and repair work when they need it.
We work with a deliberately small number of homeowners at a time — this isn’t a volume rental-turnover operation, so every property gets real attention.
